Your First Hook, Without the Guesswork
Why We Made the Epic Curve
The Curve is the ball we hand to bowlers who are ready to leave the house ball behind and see a real hook for the first time. We paired a simple 3-Piece Core with our Epic Fire Pearl Reactive cover so the ball clears the front of the lane cleanly and adds a gentle, controllable curve on the backend.
Everything about it is tuned for learning: the reactive pearl cover reads more of the lane than plastic ever could, while the low-flare core keeps that new motion smooth and predictable. At a 2000-grit polish, the Curve gives you clean length and a controlled arc to the pocket, at a price that makes the step up easy.
Inside the Epic Curve: Core and Cover
We built the Curve as an easy, controllable first hook ball for dry to medium-dry lanes. The simple 3-Piece Core keeps flare low and the motion predictable, while the Epic Fire Pearl Reactive cover at a 2000-grit polish reads more of the lane than plastic for a gentle, learnable curve.
Low Flare on Purpose
We chose a simple 3-Piece Core for the Curve because a first hook ball needs just enough engine to roll evenly, and nothing more. Low flare means the ball curves gently and controllably instead of snapping at the breakpoint.
That is what makes the Curve so easy to learn with: you see a real curve, and it repeats. Shot after shot, the motion stays smooth enough to trust while you build your release.
Your First Reactive Cover
We wrap that core in our Epic Fire Pearl Reactive coverstock at a 2000-grit polish. Unlike plastic, a reactive pearl grabs the dry backend, so the ball travels cleanly through the fronts and then makes a gentle, controllable move to the pocket.
This is what a reactive ball should feel like the first time: a real hook without an aggressive, hard-to-read reaction. Leave it polished for the smoothest motion, or have your pro shop take the surface down for a slightly earlier read as your game grows.

From the Epic Team: Getting the Most From the Epic Curve
Where It Fits in Your Bag
The Curve is the natural next step after a plastic ball like our Be Epic: your first real, controllable hook. As your game grows and you face more oil, our Ignite line adds a stronger core and cover for more motion on medium oil.
Surface Adjustments
The 2000-grit polish is what gives the Curve its clean length and gentle hook. Keep it polished for the easiest reaction, or have your pro shop take the surface down for a slightly earlier read as you grow into more hook.
Coverstock Care
Wipe the Epic Fire Pearl cover with an approved reactive ball cleaner after every session and deep clean it periodically. A fresh cover keeps the clean length and gentle hook the Curve was built for.
