The Early Read of the Ignite Line
Why We Made the Epic Ignite Solid
The Ignite Solid is the traction-first member of our Ignite line, the ball we built for developing bowlers who have outgrown their first hook ball. Our symmetric Epic Spark Core puts real flare under the ball, and the Epic Fire Solid Reactive cover reads the midlane early and digs into oil.
The result is a genuinely stronger, earlier reaction than our Curve, and it stays easy to control. More hook, more oil handled, same predictable read shot after shot, in a design that looks as bold as it plays.
Inside the Epic Ignite Solid: Core and Cover
We built the Ignite Solid for an early-reading, controllable hook on dry to medium oil. The symmetric Epic Spark Core adds real flare for an actual hook, while the Fire Solid Reactive cover at a 1500-grit polish reads the midlane early and digs into oil, a clear step up from the Curve that stays easy to trust.
The Spark Core: Real Flare, Even Roll
The Epic Spark Core is the engine of the whole Ignite line. It adds real track flare, a genuine step up from the low-flare cores in our Curve and Be Epic, while its symmetric design keeps the motion smooth and predictable.
Real flare with an even, repeatable roll is exactly what a developing bowler’s reactive ball should deliver: it hooks more than the Curve, but it reads the lane the same way every shot, so it is easy to line up and trust.
A Solid Cover That Reads Early
We wrap the Spark Core in our Epic Fire Solid Reactive coverstock at a 1500-grit polish. The solid cover reads the midlane early, gets the ball into a roll on dry to medium oil, and drives a controllable, continuous move through the pins.
That early, traction-first read is what separates the Solid from our Ignite Pearl: it reads sooner and handles a bit more oil. Leave it polished for a controllable read, take the surface down for more traction on medium oil, or polish it up for length when the lanes are dry.

From the Epic Team: Getting the Most From the Epic Ignite Solid
Where It Fits in Your Bag
The Ignite Solid is the early-reading member of the Ignite line and the step up from our Curve when you start facing more oil. Throw it on fresh dry to medium oil, then move to the Ignite Pearl for more length as the lane transitions. The Ignite Hybrid sits between them for a balanced read.
Surface Adjustments
The 1500-grit polish gives the Ignite Solid its early, controllable read. Have your pro shop take the surface down for more traction on medium oil, or keep it polished for length on drier lanes.
Coverstock Care
Wipe the Epic Fire Solid cover with an approved reactive ball cleaner after every session and deep clean it periodically. A fresh cover preserves the early read this ball is built around.
