Why We Made the Epic Unruly
The Unruly is our control specialist. We built it for the conditions that make reactive balls misbehave: dry lanes and short patterns, where you want the ball to hold its line instead of over-hooking. A simple 3-Piece Core inside our Epic Novice Urethane Pearl cover delivers a smooth, low-flare, on-line reaction.
Urethane usually comes with a premium price tag. We did not see why it had to. The Unruly brings that controlled, predictable urethane motion to any bowler’s budget, in designs bold enough to earn the name.
Inside the Epic Unruly: Core and Cover
We built the Unruly for controlled, consistent urethane motion on dry lanes and short patterns. The simple 3-Piece Core keeps flare low and the motion predictable, while the Novice Urethane Pearl cover reads the lane gently rather than snapping, holding its line where a reactive ball would over-hook.
A Core Built for Control
We put a simple 3-Piece Core in the Unruly because a control ball needs an even, predictable roll, not a strong, sharp reaction. Low flare keeps the ball on the line you chose.
Paired with the urethane cover, that core gives you the repeatable, shot-after-shot motion that makes urethane so effective when lanes are dry or patterns are short.
Urethane: Gentle Read, Held Line
We finish the Unruly in our Epic Novice Urethane Pearl coverstock, polished. Urethane generates less friction than reactive resin, so the ball reads the lane gently and holds a controlled line instead of snapping at the breakpoint. The pearl additive adds a touch of length and a slightly cleaner read.
On dry lanes and short patterns, that smooth, even reaction gets you a predictable read where reactive over-reacts. It is also a great pick for newer bowlers who want a little motion without an aggressive reaction, and your pro shop can tune the surface to fine-tune the control.
